Bev Takes a Holiday

Duckman and Cornfed in 'Haunted Society Plumbers'

Duckman is planning a poker night which Bob Guccione has agreed to come to. Duckman is desperate to impress him, but unfortunately, his dying uncle shows up to spend his last days with Duckman and his family. He insists Duckman wait on him hand and foot and reminds him of his cousin who died shortly after throwing out his dying uncle. Beverly gives Duckman the idea to try and tire him out before his guests arrive, which Duckman tries to do but quickly realizes his uncle Mo plans on intentionally ruining Duckman's game. That night, Duckman finally stands up to his uncle but just as he does, he drops dead. At the funural Duckman gives his real thoughts on the reletive and ignores an epiphany he may turn out the same way.

  • Each segment begins with a quote from the Bible.
  • Joe Walsh sings his classic "Life's Been Good" at Mo's funeral with the special lyrics for the song written by Duckman.
  • Writer/producer Michael Markowitz notes:

The version of "Life's Been Good" that appears in "Love! Anger! Kvetching!" was arranged and recorded by Joe Walsh, with Joe playing every instrument."

  • In between many scenes, the screen flashes random images from other episodes with filters over them, story board drawings and stock photographs.
  • This is the only episode where someone messes up Charles' name but gets Mambo's right.
  • Mo calls Charles and Mambo "Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum", two characters from Alice in Wonderland.
  • When Duckman points to Beverly and says "that girl", Beverly looks at the camera and the frame freezes like the opening to the 60's sitcom That Girl. The title is then scribbled out and replaced with Duckman.
